Exposure & Diet Enrichment

Tests whether biomarkers of food intake, dietary patterns, food composition or chemical exposures are over-represented among your significant compounds (a list), or associated with the outcome in a concentration table.

Names are matched against a focused database of 9,801 dietary and exposure compounds (FOBI, Exposome-Explorer, Phenol-Explorer, FooDB, dietary pattern studies, MarkerDB, SMPDB drug pathways, CDC NHANES, NORMAN-SLE PFAS lists).

Example data (human_cachexia.csv): A generic example, not a dietary study: urinary metabolite concentrations (1H NMR) of 77 cancer patients, 47 cachexic and 30 controls; 63 compounds named, samples in rows. It holds a few food-related compounds (hippurate, trigonelline, tartrate, methylhistidines) and shows the steps of the analysis.
